HFM announces 2018 scholarship recipients

Holy Family Memorial and its medical staff recently awarded scholarships, totaling more than $13,000 to seven area students who are attending or will attend an accredited educational institution and have declared a health care-related major. The HFM medical staff awarded the following students with the Holy Family Medical/Dental Endowment Scholarship.

HFM to host a widow’s workshop

Holy Family Memorial Hospice and a group of local widows will host a God’s Care for Widows Workshop on Saturday, August 11. The one-day program is designed for widowed women of any age or faith background and provides an opportunity to explore the emotional, social and spiritual aspects of their grief.

Matthew Campbell, MD of HFM General and Vascular Surgery is the first and only surgeon in Manitowoc County to offer LINX—a minimally invasive outpatient procedure to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, otherwise known as GERD or acid reflux. “This new advancement revolutionizes the treatment of acid reflux disease,” says Dr. Campbell.
HFM Cancer Center Earns National Accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons

The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation to the cancer program at Holy Family Memorial. To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.

HFM receives over $12,000 in new construction incentives for participation in energy efficiency programs.

Holy Family Memorial received more than $12,000 from WPPI Energy and Focus on Energy in financial incentives as a result of participation in energy efficiency programs offered through Two Rivers Water & Light energy for efficiency measures implemented at the new HFM Lakefront Campus in Two Rivers. HFM received an incentive of $3,000 from WPPI Energy in addition to a $9,099 incentive from Focus on Energy.
